Last week I had the pleasure of volunteering for the Vippy's ( Victorian Institute of Professional Photography Awards) It was a great experience seeing behind the scenes of how the event is put together and to view the work up close to see the details in print and the hard work put into everyone's photos. We also met some very talented students from other photography schools who were also helping out. This year I entered 3 prints into the awards and I received 4 points off a Silver on my prints which I'm very happy to get. It didn't matter because it was my 1st time entering and the experience is what I enjoyed and what the Judges really looked for in your images was invaluable.
The day after we volunteered we received a phone call asking us if we would like to attend the event night and It was formal and in a few hours time! I couldn't say no, it was a great experience and we got to eat free food, so that's always good too. The night was fantastic and we got to meet some talented professionals in the industry. Did I mention the food was amazing too, so much to eat. By the end of the night we couldn't eat dessert! It was an awesome night!
So Appa's ( Australian Professional Photography Awards ) are only 6 weeks away and I'm working on a new series of portraits and hopefully I will have them finished by then.
They had a photo booth :D Can you guess where I'm standing ;)
